1st Trimester

I'm here! Ultrasound update...**update with PIP**

Well. I don't know how to feel about it. On one hand, I'm pregnant and saw a heartbeat. On the other hand, I'm now two weeks off on dates.

Last visit was 10 days ago and it measured me at 5w4d (I was dated at 6w4d). Today I measured 6w0d (Dated at 8w1d).

How is it ok that the baby has only grown 3 days in a 10 day span?!

No one will answer me or tell me anything other than I still have the hemorrhage that's continuing to bleed.

  • Oh, huge hugs to you!  I can see why you are confused.  What is the next plan of action?  Is there anything they can do to stop/slow the hemmorage?

One of my local nesties had a baby about 5 months after my DD was born.  She had the bleeding and cramping and was measuring way behind at first.  Well, her LO caught up and he is now 2 :)

Nope, they aren't doing anything until my first appointment. I'm very frustrated...

  • Thanks for the update! Hopefully once the hemmorage issue gets taken care of then baby will catch up. What's the next step for you?

I haven't even been in to see my MW. My real first appointment is 12/29. I might be able to beg and plead to get in sooner.

  • Atleast you were able to see the baby. I had lots of bleeding and cramping (at 7 weeks) with my DD they gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving, for some reason I had a blood clot in my uterus. She survived and will be 2 next week! GL to you hon.

  • I know nothing is going to make you feel better, and I'm so sorry that you're going through this, but we measured 2 weeks behind at my last appointment.  My Dr. told me that not every baby grows at the same rate.  Sometimes some stages take longer than others and some take a shorter period.

I hope everything is ok and I'll be thinking about you.

Thanks! I feel so in the dark since we saw DS for the first time at 11 weeks and he was almost always on track or ahead.

  • It really depends on the tech. If the measure a little on the inside the baby can appear to be smaller. At this point I would just push for your MW to see you sooner so you can hopefully see the heartbeat!
  • I can't imagine how you feel, but I hope everything works out for you. I'm praying for you and your LO.

  • I think it's a great sign to see the heartbeat.  I would also be really concerned about the slow growth, but it seems that they might speed things up if they were seriously concerned.

Hope you get some more information soon.  T+P!

  • What was the heartrate? If it is in the normal range I wouldn't worry. With my first pregnancy our baby was continually measuring behind and had a slow heartrate (90bpm) and eventually stopped growing. But as long as they aren't concerned about the heartrate I'm sure you are fine.
  • Doh, I just realized you DID see a heartbeat already. That is GREAT. Even more reason to not worry so much about the measurement!
