Last week there was a small plane crash. A teacher's son and her father were both killed in that crash. She is working to establish a children's library in memory of her son. Do you have anything you'd like to donate? I'd like to take up a nestie contribution (maybe someone north could help?) to take to them.
I know we come together in amazing ways for moms in need, so this community was the first I thought of when I came across this request. Who's interested?
The guy who does fireworks at weddings (Steve Wolf) is close to the situation - his son was friends with the boy. Here's what Steve wrote on facebook:
Steve Wolf Last week our community suffered a heart-breaking tragedy. A plane crash Monday took the life of six year old West Riley, just south of Austin's airport. You may have seen it on the news.
West and my son Dash were schoolmates at Cedars Montessori School around the corner on Circle Drive. West's mom, Caroline, is a teacher at the school. In addition to losing her son, her father was also
killed in the crash.
I know you'll want to keep Caroline and her family in your thoughts and prayers, and goodness knows she'll need every kind of help to survive this horrific ordeal.
Caroline expressed that she would find some comfort in knowing her child will not be forgotten, and had hoped that a library might be established in West's memory at his school.
If you have any children's books you would like to donate, or bookshelves, chairs or anything that would be appropriate for the West Riley Memorial Library, your generosity would mean a great deal to Caroline, and to West's family. If the school is convenient, you can
make a donation there, or you can feel free to drop anything at my home or with my wife and we'll deliver it for you.
Thank you so much for your time and your kindness. Please forward this to anyone or group of people to whom you think this would be of interest.
Sincerely,
Steve Wolf
