S/O holiday tipping - who else do you tip?

There's been lots of talk about tipping daycare teachers.  Who else do you typically tip during the holidays?

Re: S/O holiday tipping - who else do you tip?

  • Housecleaners (there is a head lady and then other ladies - I usually tip the head and then she tips her girls), newspaper guy (just $10) and regular babysitter (just because we know money is tight for her and her family). I'm not tipping the post man this year because it has been changing and I don't know who it is!

  • My hairdresser, the postwoman, the cleaning crew- like the pp, I tip the head woman and she distributes to the rest of the group and the gentleman who mows our lawn.
  • If I have a regular service, maid service (I've been changing maids in search of a good one so no tip this year).  Garbage man, dairy delivery person, mail carrier, regular babysitter and hair dresser.  Last year I tipped our dog trainer because he really went above and beyond to help us.

ETA:  And glad someone mentioned the lawn care -- I need to tip the neighborhood kid who mows our yard!

How do you tip the garbage man and mail carrier?  Thanks.
