Adoption

birth dad suddenly came into the picture

we heard from our case worker that G's b-dad contacted our agency and suddenly wants updates and would like to meet us. Which is great! I am happy that Grayden will have a chance to know his birthdad.

She gave us his contact info so we are working on an email to send him but have NO IDEA how to start or what to say to him. We know very little about him....I don't know what to say!

This is super shocking to us!

  • I think it is a positive that he is wanting to know you! Best wishes!
  • Not to sound sarcastic or silly, but Hello is an awesome way to start the email. :)

I hope the meeting goes well!

  • So wonderful!

I would just keep the e-mail fairly short and general.  Include some questions to him designed to start some kind of discussion and of course, include a few pictures!  That first e-mail will be the hardest, but keep it simple and a dialogue will naturally evolve from that.  Hopefully he'll think to ask some questions of his own to make replying easier :)

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
