Two Under 2

Need some help....

So listen, I know I created this problem myself and I know I am going to get flamed for it, but I pulled a huge no no long ago......

I gave my son milk at night....gasp!! Now I can't get him to go through the night without waking up saying juice which is the universal word for his sippy cup. I just need some help on how I can get him back to sleep without giving him his cup. I know shame shame on me. Trust me I regret it for more reasons than just his teeth.

Re: Need some help....

  • We are now having the same problem, only with a pacificer - so no falmes from me!!

He can go to sleep fine without it but if he wakes up and can't find it he will not go back to sleep without literally screaming for 15+ minutes =/

If you find a solution I'd be interested in hearing it! LOL.

I'm thinking cold turkey may be the way to go but I keep putting it off .....

  • I would go cold turkey if I were you. When I stopped nighttime nursing I had to go cold turkey. It only took 2-3 nights and then she slept through the night without waking! It was heavenly!
  • I tried to take away the binkie twice, the first time I tried to "phase" it out and the second time I went cold turkey. Cold turkey won. It's hard but it's only hard for the first couple night, then they forget they ever needed it! Good luck!
  • Oh Thank you thank you. I will be working on this......

  • Put water in it and don't give in.  It might be hard and he might cry but there is nothing wrong with drinking a little water in the middle of the night and if he doesn't get the milk he wants after a few tries, he might stop asking for it.
