Members of a MoM group come in

I was thinking about going to the local meeting today, but realized it was their holiday party/gift exchange.  I think it would be weird of me to go for the first time tonight.  Should I stay or should I go?

    I joined mine over the weekend but will not be going later this week to mine for the same reason.   I would just feel a bit odd, but that is just me.  I am going to next months meeting.  I hope you enjoy it if you go!

    I am going to my first MoMs meeting tomorrow night, and it is also their white elephant gift exchange. I am bringing a gift, and know a couple of the girls in the group already so I don't think it will be uncomfortable.

    i'm not going to our MoM holiday party either - because i have only been to one meeting (the new MoMs meeting) and one event (at a farm) i feel like i really don't know anyone and would be weird to be at a holiday party with women who are all good friends.

    just go to the next event after :)

    i went to my first meeting last month, and it was a dinner.  everyone was suppose to bring a potluck, but i did and they were fine with it.  they really do understand. they understand you are new and want you to come and feel comfortable.  do you have the number of new member or membership person and talk to her about your concerns?  but if you don't feel comfortable about going i would not go. if you do go i hope you have fun.

    I went to my first meeting in Septemeber and then did not attend Oct and Nov so I did not know anyone.  I went to the Holiday party last week and it was really fun.  Mostly b/c a MoM on here took me under her wing and I sat with her.

    I am pretty shy when I don't know anyone and when I first got there I didn't know a soul, the Bump MoM was not there yet - I got a glass of wine and a MoM came up and introduced herself and we chatted forever.  It was a very festive atmospere (more than the regular meeting) and even though I wasn't involved in the gift exchange it was fun to watch all the stealing.  I say go for it - uyou can alway leave early if it stinks!
