Advice on Graco SnugRide 32...

Hi ladies...I'm coming over from 2nd Tri and am just doing a bit of research on the Graco car seats. In the new addition of Baby Bargains, the Graco SungRide 32 seams to be getting good reviews. I was looking at the reviews on BRU and alot of people were complaining about the weight and size of the SnugRide 32. They also say it doesn't fit in shopping carts. If you have a SnugRide 32, what do you think of it?

Re: Advice on Graco SnugRide 32...

  • I love our Snugride.  We had maybe one instance where it didn't fit in a shopping cart but that's one experience compared to many times it did fit.  The weight isn't too bad and I really think most car seats are heavy anyways.  What DH and I did though was take the car seat in the store and loaded it up with things that equaled 8lbs and tested it out.  I also love the ease of putting it in the base and removing it as well as the fact that it's compatible with our Bugaboo Bee so we didn't have to get a Snap 'N Go to use right now until she can ride in the Bee!

  • what kind of car do you have? I have a Civic (and an old one at that) and the 32 wouldn't fit in my car. So we have the regular snugride.

  • I think if I had it to do over again I would go with a smaller car seat.  It is HEAVY and a pain to lug around.  And it doesn't fit in most shopping carts (except the ones at Old Navy for some reason)

We have a Sunfire and Jeep Cherokee and it fits in our vehicles just fine.  You'd probably not have a problem there

    This.

  • I have a SUV but DH has a Mazda Protege.  It's a small car and yet we can fit the seat in the middle and still have room for an adult to sit on either side.

  • Mine fits in my S40 Volvo and so far in Target's shopping cart and our local grocery store.

  • I have the Snugride 32 and don't really have any complaints.  I do think it's heavy when DD is in it but I'm not that strong and would say that about any seat.  It's easy to get in and out of my car (a small SUV).  I have found that it only fits on the top of the carts at Target but I heard this complaint from other people as well and they had different seats.  I personally need to do some research on the infant carriers because I believe they have weight AND length limits and if so, my DD will outgrow hers based on length way way way before she's near 32 pounds.  If that's the case I could have saved a little money and bought a smaller one.

  • There's no reason to get one.  You aren't going to lug around a 2-3 year old in an infant carrier, and it's heavier than the regular Snugride while you are carrying it around.  The convertible carseat you will move them to when they are too big to carry around will be rear facing anyway, so there really isn't any advantage to getting the 32.
  • I love it! Your right... it does not want to fit in shopping cart properly but it does not bother me because i am so short if i put DS up there I cannot see over it. I love it though! graco has a travle swing and a new one (unsure of name) that we have that it fits right into!
