Diaper Rash- my sh!tty day

Ugh, Justin has been so crabby the last 2 days b/c of a WICKED diaper rash. His little hiney is just raw in a few spots. Once his cold went away last week, the rash came. Poor little guy :(

The best advice I could see online was to "air it out". So he was running around in babylegs and a sweatshirt after his bath. 2 minutes after I took the diaper off doesn't he squat down and poop on my living room rug. Oh the glamorous life of a mom, right ladies?

  • Awww poor little guy! The California Baby Diaper Rash cream is truly a miracle worker and clears stuff up super fast! You can get it at BRU or Target usually! And it's all natural!

  • I'm sorry but I had to LOL that your sh!tty day, is literally Justin sh!tting on your carpet!  Haha - I have definitely been there.  Zoey would get really bad rashes when she was first starting solids and so I did a lot of "nakey time" with her too.  So I can definitely feel your pain.

I don't know what types of creams/ointments you have tried, but the best one that I have found is "Triple Paste".  It's pretty expensive - like 9.99 for a small tube, or almost 30 for the big tub, but it works better than anything else I've found (and I tried them ALL - Destin, Balmex, Butt Paste, Vaseline, Burts Bees, neosporin, and even some Rx ones from the dr).  I spent SO much $ on creams and ointments and the Triple Paste definitely worked the best.  If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to give it a shot.

  • Evan had a stomach virus once and was pooping non-stop. He got diaper rash soooo bad - like open bleeding sores. I felt so bad for him!

What helped the quickest was rinsing him after each poop and patting dry - no wipes or wiping. And plain old hydrocortizone cream.

Oh - and sorry about your carpet ; )

  • How awful for both of you! Sorry about the carpet. Did have to LOL at the fact that you were literally having a sh!i!y day! On the occasions that Ian got bad diaper rash, we'd use Aquaphor after making sure that he had aired out after a bath (only one pee incident, thankfully).
  • Diaper rash is the worst.  A few days ago Rosie silently pooped in the middle of the night and then slept in it for a few more hours, so she woke up with a screaming rash.  We also had to do naked time, although thankfully we didn't have any incidents.  The funny part was that every time she made some kind of face I was like, "Are you peeing?  Are you going to pee?" and I would run to hold a diaper under her.  We are very glamorous indeed.
  • Oh no! YUCK YUCK YUCK. Eve has never had a really bad rash.. but I am super paranoid about her being without a diaper at all.. I don't even like to carry her from her room to the bathtub (across the hall).. She does have a rash right now though.. I like the purple desitin (not the creamy).. I know everyone has something different that they swear by.. LOL.
