I am having in-laws over on Christmas and am baking a ham but that's all I've come up with. I want to serve a potato dish and need ideas on that and what else to serve. What goes well with ham? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks ladies!
That cheesy potato casserole the first poster was talking about is deee-licious. Scalloped potatoes are always good, too. For veggies, I like peas or broccoli with ham. You could do a pea, broccoli, cauliflour medley. Or cauliflour au gratin would go well. HTH - have fun with your dinner!
Thanks ladies, these are all great ideas. The cheesy potato casserole is interesting and several of you have mentioned it. Is there a specific recipe you like or should I just google cheesy potato casserole? And I am definitely going to add a veggie in, gotta cut all that richness with something!
The first time I had it was at my friends Christmas party several years ago. Now it's a staple at our house if we're having ham. You can put it on top of your ham or on the side.
1 C. drained crushed pinapple
1/3 C. water
2 eggs
2 tsp. corn starch
3/4 C. sugar
butter/cinnamon
Mix ingredients. Cook on stove until thick. Pour into small baking dish. Dot with butter and top with cinnamon. Bake at 350 for 30 min.
Re: What goes with ham?
I made this once with beef and it was excellent. I think it would pair well with ham also.

We always have scalloped potatoes.
We also always have a fantastic pinapple sauce with the ham.
You HAVE to have this!....
