Hi ladies! This is my first post on the bump, so I'm excited. I've always liked the name Cali for a nickname, but wasn't sure what possibilities I have for a full name. I like the name Calista and calling a girl Cali. What else would work? Thanks!
I think Callista is pretty, and works well for a grown-up. If the purpose of a longer name would be to give her a more formal option, and I don't think Calliope would do that (although Calliope is an awesome name, IMO).
Thanks for all of the suggestions! I was looking for a longer, more formal name because my last name is Long, which to me is very boring and short. I wanted a longer, more original first name.

Then you should use Calliope. Definitely original. I love it!
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
I dont get giving a kid a nn before the kids is here....nns kinda grow out of a child ex. my nephew couldnt say Jared, he said Juju so he's been Juju for 11 yrs; a friend of mine was chubby and his family thought he looked like a Scooter pie so he was Scooter (still is, at 40), my daughter didn't cry, she mewed like a kitten so we call her Mewmew....
My favorite girl's name is Calliope (pronounces Cah-LYE-Oh-Pee NOT Cal-EE-Oh-Pee) and we plan on NN her Callie. We also considered Callia and Calla. I can't stand Calista or Callandra.
Re: What name to use so Cali is nickname?
I love Callista nn Callie.
I prefer two L's personally.
Callandra, is an option though I'm not a fan. Calla is pretty, though I don't think it needs a nn.
my DD is named Callina; we call her Callie!
we didn't like Calista or some of the other names. we love the name Callie but wanted a more formal name too.
I like Calista the best. Why not just call her Cali or Callie as her given name?
Calista
Calliope
Calandra

I had a friend in high school named Calais (Cal-ay). I thought it was a beautiful name and very unique!
I like Calliope too.
i LOVE the name Calliope but DH vetoed it. I think it would fit well with your last name.
