Success after IF

MH can be a total jerk!

I hurt my knee in the early fall and finished up physical therapy for it just after I got my BFP.  I'm overweight to begin with and am starting to feel really bloated in the evenings.  I have my first OB appt. tomorrow and I know that he's going to say I need to excercise more.  The mile long dog walks just aren't enough.  So, I asked my husband to set up the elliptical for me (we moved it for Thanksgiving for entertaining space).  And he says:  "milkshakes probably aren't the best idea". Seriously?!?  What a crappy thing to say to a bloated, hormonal pregnant woman.  All b/c I had 1 milkshake this weekend!  I haven't had ice cream or crap like that in months and he has the nerve to say that!

I realize that it's probably my hormones getting the best of me, but I'm really ticked!  I'm happy that my mom will be here any minute to pick me up so that we can enjoy a nice holiday music show together this evenign.

Ugh!  Thanks for letting me vent ladies!

  • That is a pretty crappy thing of him to say to you, whether you're pregnant or not. Sounds like he has some issues going on and is taking them out on you. Has he said stuff like this to you before? I would tell him how much that hurt your feelings and that you are PREGNANT and will have cravings and no reason why you shouldn't give into them within reason. Hope you have a good evening!

  • Ok, I'd kill him.

Seriously, he'd be wearing a milkshake if he said that to me.

Yes, get out of the house for the evening, for his well being as well as yours.

I am only partially kidding when I say, you need the dairy, a milkshake every once in a while during pregnancy is totally fine.

  • My dh says things like that and I want to smack him.  He probably wasn't totally thinking and maybe was making a joke?  Whatever the reason, it was a $hi**y thing for him to say :(  Boo to your dh

No, he knows better and I know he felt bad immediately after it came out of his mouth.  But, serioulsy, watch it!   He's actually been super supportive through our whole struggle with infertility and my food issues the past few weeks.  I have a hard time stomaching much and he's been great about stopping at the store and getting what I ask for etc.  I think this was a brainless moment on his part!
