Sleep positioner

Me and my dh are trying to transition our maddi into her crib. She STTN in bed with us, but only last about 15 minutes in her crib. So we thought we would remove the sleep positioner from the crib, and let her try it a few nights in our bed with it, but she hates it and just ends up screaming. Right now, she either sleeps on me or dh's chest or on her back in her boppy in between us on the bed. We really don't feel like either option is the safest but we can't seem to get her to sleep in the crib. What can we do? (we don't believe in CIO)

  • Yeah, we were told to wake LO every 2-3 hours throughout the day to eat.

I thought so too, but her pedi has checked her weight twice and it's increasing so she told us to feed her every 3 hours during the day and let her sleep as long as she wants at night. She usually sleeps from midnight-6 or 7 am. Dr said anything more than 5 hours is STTN. Does this sound normal or should I get a second opinion?

  • Don't use the boppy!  It has a big no sleep sign on one of the tags on it.  Is she swaddled at night?  When DD was as young as yours, swaddling her super tight was what calmed her down and allowed her to fall asleep.  Babies that young are comforted when they are reminded of the womb.
  • Maybe at one week she is not ready for her crib.  We still have our guy in the Pack N Play in our room.
  • Let me know when you figure it out. We are in the exact same position only Lily is a little older. She refuses to sleep without us and it's dirving me nuts. I dont know what to do either.
