We were in a single level when I had DS (c-section) so I didn't have to deal with stairs. Now we're in a two-story home. I have heard you aren't supposed to climb stairs for a while but this seems highly unrealistic considering our lifestyle and keeping up with a 3 1/2 year old who is constantly up and down stairs. Did you find it was a problem?
Re: C-section mommies with stairs in your house?
I was worried about this but discharge OB told me I could do it right away, just to have help the first two times. I went home at two days and forgot and climbed the stairs myself right away. It was fine. And we don't even have a banister.
Granted, I didn't try to climb stairs up and down all day, but I definitely did it several times a day right away.

Same for me! Slow and steady
didn't seem to be a problem at first until my incision popped open when I was walking up the stairs.
I know I'm a rare case, but it's probably a big reason they tell you to avoid it. It has not been fun having an open incision since then since it had to heal back up on it's own rather than be stitched back together. So much pain and tears were shed over these last few weeks having to pack my wound.
Be careful!!!!! Obviously it's unrealistic not to do any stairs, but there is a reason Dr's give you restrictions on things.
