Babies: 0 - 3 Months

back to teaching in morning *sigh*

i have enjoyed my 8 weeks at home...but my 3rd grders need me and Mommy needs a paycheck. Glad MIL is b-sitting but sad that I will have very little quality time w/LO during week.

Any other teachers out there? I have no clue what I am teaching this week...hopefully it will be easy since Christmas is right around the corner.I hve an awesome team...should have some plans waiting for me.

  • I returned to teaching my second graders last week.  It sucked. I won't lie, I cried every day in the bathroom.  You just have to keep reminding yourself that this is what is best for your baby because you need the money to do various things for her.  It is funny how your whole perspective will change when it comes to work.  At least mine did.  My class was buckwild.  The sub did a good job, but she gave them a lot more chances than I do.  It will take me weeks to retrain them to my expectations again.

  • I went back to my 6th graders last week and it sucked.  The good thing is that I have 4 55 minute classes, so I just showed a 30 minute video and caught up with them on the first day.  I hope your week goes by fast!  Thank goodness for break being right around the corner!

    1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

  • I just went back to work last week.  (I teach 3rd grade too!)  It was a very long week and I was exhausted when I got home.  I cried everyday when I left for work, and I actually cried when I got home a couple times.  Those first 2 days were the hardest because everything was not organized, and I am a very organized teacher.  I had piles of papers everywhere and I would have liked a teacher work day just go get everything together.  My lesson plans for this week suck, but we have our Christmas program and then Friday is our last day before break so that day is taken for Christmas projects and a party.  I hope this week doesn't last as long.  I was going to go back in January, but we needed the money.  Part of me is glad I went back a little early so I won't worry about going back over Christmas, but I am so missing my baby!  I want to quit so bad, but that just won't work for us financially.  I'm sad ;-(

    TTC #3 - 4 cycles - no BFP yet!
  • I teach third grade, too.  It's hard to believe that I've already been out 4 weeks.  The time has gone by so fast and I am not looking forward to going back!
