What's for Christmas dinner?

I need to plan my menu. Inspire me. What do you have? Turkey? Ham? Roast beef? What sort of sides? What would you LIKE to have? It's going to be DH, myself, and 6 from his family.

  • Well I am working at the hospital :( Sad! But if I am home  I like roast beef, potato cheese souffle (I have a great recipe if you want it), broccoli and cheese casserole, salad! MMM.

  • For Christmas Eve we are doing it gringo style with turkey and ham and mashed potatoes and i don?t know what else yet. Oh and rolls of course : ) And I?m planning on making those thin mint cookies Cara posted about the other day.

For Christmas Day we are having pozole and tamales on the beach.

It?s gonna be me my mom and dad my brother and DH.

  • I prefer ham but my mom is cooking this year and shes doing a turkey. Its pretty much like a Thanksgiving dinner, we have green bean casserole, dill carrots, squash, potatoes, stuffing, ect. Then we have cookies and pie for dessert. Yummy!!
  • We always have bagels with cream cheese and lox for breakfast and then usually my dad makes some crazy entree for dinner (like cornish game hen or lamb stew, or last year we had fettucine alfredo with scallops) but for some reason they are doing turkey and ham this year.

  • My DH is trying to catch (kill-but I like to say catch because it sounds nicer) a goose, and my mom will cook it...If not, we'll probably just buy a goose from the store...never had goose before. We normally do ham.
