I'm bleeding but not from where you'd think, could use some advice...

So this morning I was running around the house "nesting" when all the sudden I could feel that my t-shirt was wet.  Great, right breast leaking! Fun.  Then I look at my white t-shirt and the area where the leak had sprung, instead of being just wet was rust colored.  It must be blood right? What the hell? Anyone else have this? Should I be freaked out-because I kind of am!

    Was the whole area rust colored or just the outer ring? If it was just the outer ring, it was probably the BM reacting with left over detergent in the shirt. If it's the whole area, your nipples could just be cracked. Clean them off, apply a good lotion (or vaseline), and see if that helps. If it persists, call your OB.

    I had some "breast blood" ... I cleaned out some dried colostrum a few weeks ago, and I got a spot of blood.  It kind of freaked me out at first, but it probably just means that a milk duct is near a blood vessel.  I don't even remember to ask my doctor about it.  I'm not too concerned about it.

    i had the same thing. I spoke to my doc about it. He said colostrum can come in many shades, sometimes it appears rust color or reddish. It also can be a injured duct (like from sleeping funny, bumping your beast, etc). He also told me that there are women that bleed from there breast heavily and to monitor the amount you leak. If you think it can be something more than just colostrum  please inform your doc asap.
