First mama question

Since most of us are advancing towards the finish line, I keep hearing about mucus plugs. Makes me all giddy inside to hear about a plug of mucus falling out of my chach.

When does it usually happen? Should I start wearing diapers? I'm getting nervous because I'm a first timer. Thanks!

    I lost mine about a week ago - it doesn't always come out all at once, mine came over a few days.  And, since then there's been some increased discharge which I assume is some more of it.  For me, it happened in the morning and that is when I have the most discharge - but after one or two trips to the bathroom that morning, I was okay.

    I did use a thin pad for the 2 days that it was *really* coming out. 

    Its nothing to be nervous about though - its just gross!!!

    I lost mine 4 hours before delivering luckily on the toilet.  I was 38 weeks pregnant.  Now that I know what it's like, I will be wearing a very large pad starting at 36 weeks.

    I never noticed mine come out.  When I had my internal done last week, I asked if it was still in there and my MW said no, so it's a mystery as to when it came out.  Maybe in the middle of the night when I flushed in the dark?
