Jewelry with warnings on it

Has anyone ever noticed this before?  I bought two pairs of earrings and a ring at Kohl's today for my little sister - she's 11.  The earrings are pretty tasteful, smaller hoops.  The ring is just your average costume jewelry.  The earrings having a warning that say "Not Intended For Use By Children Under 15" and the ring has the same warning, except age 14.  Apparently I don't buy jewelry often enough if I've never seen these warnings before!

    That is weird. I'm sure there is a lawsuit behind it.

    Since it's costume jewelry - it may have a base metal under the coating with lead in it.  I would think that would be what the warnings are about.
