Wholly F%^& - really painful-burning itch

OK, i don't think i've ever had a yeast infection before..but for a few days now i have been in real pain. I finally went out and got a cream to put on and it is bareable for a few hours, but once i go pee again..it kills! I don't know what to do now. It's so swollen down there and painful that i'm walking funny now and have to sit really slowly. HELP!

Re: Wholly F%^& - really painful-burning itch

  • sounds terrible. Was it cream for a yeast infection? If it doesnt start feeling better soon you should call your OB.?

  • Could be herpes.

Get that checked out by yoru doc.

  • yup that's a yeast infection!! you might have to get antibiotics.  i've heard that monostat (sp?) is a pretty good brand to use over the counter.  Hope you get better soon, those things are super painful and make life miserable for a while.  maybe pop a tylenol to help ease the pain? gook luck!

  • I hope you go the the Dr.  It's sounds like you might have a UTI or both.

    This.

  • Call your doc before you use anything.
  • Because you're preggers it might be a good idea to get this confirmed by your doc, but it does sound like a yeast infection! And I guess it turns out that it's sooo common with pregnant women! If the cream you're using doesn't make you feel better within a day, it might not be. I'm on my last day of treatment with monistat for a yeast infection - the first night I inserted the cream it "Wholly F%^& - really painful-burning itch"ed too. I thought I was going to trip my vag out it was so bad, but I forced myself to sleep and by the next afternoon I felt SOOOO much better. I was pretty swollen for a day or two, but that's gone down now. GOOD LUCK!

PS - I'm not pg right now, but a nurse, a pharmiscist and other ladies on the board all confirmed that their docs said Monistat is safe during pregnancy. Just don't go sticking pointy things too quickly up there.

  • Thanks for all the advice ladies. I really didn't think i needed to call the doc..but I did (am now waiting to hear back) but the recpt. said that they've gotten a ton of calles about pg ladies having YI...I had no idea that could be herpes though...eeeekk, although both my dh and i are faithful..and havn't had issues before...who knows.
  • Yogurt tampon!!! (just kidding please dont insert a yogurt covered tampon)

You need to call your doctor. There is a such thing as an external yeast infection which would be worse on the outside and wouldn't have the same discharge as an internal yeast infection. They are treated by a similar cream but it's usually done as the 7 day treatment when you're pg.

    GL! yeast is a b*tch.

Yeah vagisil is different from the "Monastat" which is what they usually say to use. I think vagisil is just basically like an aloe soothing cream not an actual medication. I have definitely had an "external" yeast infection diagnosed before...it doesn't HAVE to occur internally w/ discharge but your doctor should be able to diagnose it. I know what you're going through...I had the yeast infection from hell for 3 weeks shortly after I got my BFP. Finally got it cleared up and it hasn't been back since then, thank GOD!

OMG..3 WEEKS...i would die..I'm so sorry..i hope you never get that again. I'm like ready to cry here...i PRAY the doc can see me tonight.
