Crafty ladies come in

Ok, so I want to learn how to knit or crochet.  Which one is easier to learn? I really want to make DS a hat, booties, etc. Am I biting off more than I can chew?

    I only know how to crochet (and not very well at that!) so I can't compare.  I just made DS a hat and thumbless mittens on a string for Christmas and I have to say they turned out pretty cute!

    i think crocheting is easier because i can do it faster.  although all i can make is a scarf or blanket!!  haha
