We're sitting there in the waiting room and this girl (young 20s) is standing at the receptionist's window asking about ivf... for a friend. She's holding a list (I guess a price list?) and says "$9,000 is too much, got anything cheaper?"
Then she asks about health insurance, does it cover anything, or are there any medical plans her friend can buy?
Plus, she wants to know about the costs of doctors visits and what happens during it. They try to explain blood work and tests her friend will need to see why she's not getting pregnant.
This girl was clueless. What?? Why send a "friend?" That was probably the weirdest conversation I've ever heard.
Re: Stupidity overheard at the RE
That is odd.

Exactly. My bet is she wants a baby NOW, or wants more than one baby because it's "cool", and her OB won't allow it. So she's doing her own spy work because she's a determined to have her own reality show by being the first deca-mom!
Wow, that sounds bitter. Sorry!
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
I was tempted to get up, kindly tell her about TCOYF and then recommend seeing an RE if she (um, her friend) had been trying for more than a year with no success.
I mean, I'm private when it comes to IF but when I realized it wouldn't just happen the first couple of months of trying, I was smart enough to use google, figure out charting and then go to my Ob/Gyn.
6 IUIs,IVF #1 w/ICSI = BFP!
Betas, 332 & 856 = twins!
Our baby girl is here!
