Mo-Mo Twins?????

we had our 2nd u/s on tuesday, 12/8 and received devestating news.  the RE was not able to find a heartbeat (7w4d).  last week there was only one fetal pole in the sac and yesterday and it appears the embryo split so 2 in the same sac.  she was not find any activity and told me that twins in the same sac are very hard to carry to term and most end in a miscarriage.  My RE has recommended either a D&C or wait for a natural miscarrige (no thanks).

I've been doing research and these twins are called Mono-Mono twins (Monoamniotic-Monochorionic or "Mo-Mo" twins).

Is anyone familiar with these types of twin? 

I am scheduled to have another U/S next week before a D&C just to be sure.

    I don't have any experince with mo-mo twins, but I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry you are going though this.  Best wishes.

    I am really sorry that you are going through this - and just sent you a PM.  I have MoMo twins.  Most do miscarry in the first trimester.

    I carried Mo-Mo twins and didnt know it was such a big deal until about 2yrs ago.  My dr. told me there were more risks involved and I had an U/S every.single week from 15wks on but was so busy and tired from working and being a new mom of our son who was only 4months old when we got pg again that I didnt think to question him.  I trusted everything he told me and he wasnt overly concerned.  I asked him later about it (he is my reg. obgyn as well) and he said that he almost never talks about chances of m/c because he has found it only causes the mom to worry and stress more and that is not going to help in a high risk pg.
