to 'entertain' your LO when you can't? i.e in the shower, or making dinner. I have a jumperoo, exersaucer and playmat, but I was looking for something else that would really keep her attention.
Any suggestions, or have I already filled her life full with my consumer driven parenting? J?K- she is litterally in these things only 15 min at a time, if that, and I stop to play with her.... I'm not really that bad of a mom.... I think.....
Re: Bad mom question... what do you use
If you're okay with having your LO watch TV, have you tried Baby Einstein DVDs?
Its an awesome way for me to get 25 minutes of stuff done around the house.
Yep, you named them all.
I have a jumperoo, bouncy seat, activity mat, or lately I put her in her highchair with toys on the tray when I'm in the kitchen.
Oh yes, I do this too. Another good one!
If you have all three of those, I think you're set!
Babies need independent play, too - is she content to lie on her tummy or back for a few minutes? It helps her exercise her limbs.
You're NOT a bad mom!
I use these things all of the time! Sometimes we play with them together, but other times, if I need to get something done I have no problem letting her play by herself. I think it's good to learn how to play independently.
We bought the Baby Einstein Exporation Tunnel (I think $30) and it's been great. She used to love looking up at the toys and batting them but now that she rolls and sits, she sort of moves through the tunnel. Apparently it will grow with her even when she starts crawling, etc.
DS loves the jumperoo - he will last half an hour in it!
We do something similar to this.
