Our beautiful twins are here.
Jacob Louis (A) was born at 7:39am, weighing 6 pounds, and is 19.5 inches.
William Thomas (B) was born at 7:41, weighing 5 pounds 5 ounces, and is 18 inches.
Not much to this birth story, everything went as scheduled. We got to the hospital around 5:30, got my IV (TWICE), headed to the OR a little after 7:00, got my spinal and catheter. I've been so nervous and anxious about the c/s, after the spinal I just closed my eyes and tried to block everything out until I heard Jacob (A) crying. Everyone says there's no pain just a LOT of pulling/tugging/pressure, I didn't feel much of anything. I felt a tiny bit of pulling and tugging, but I was expecting extreme pressure. 2 minutes after Jacob was born, William (B) was born. Jacob stopped crying pretty quick, William definitely let us know that he was NOT happy to be taken from his cozy home. I was wheeled out sometime between 8:00-8:30 to my recovery/postpartum room. I was very numb until around 10:00, then I could start to feel the incision, and the pain came pretty quick. They gave me morphine which worked pretty well, but made me feel very dopey (don't know why ANYONE gets addicted to pain killers, I did not like the way it made me feel). After I could prove that I could handle solids I was cleared to have pills (Motrin). The pain is tolerable when moving and non-existent when sitting/laying still. JR 's been a great big brother so far, we let him hold the babies on his lap and he decided that only HE could hold the babies, didn't want anyone else to take them. IL's watched him at their house this afternoon and after his nap he was very excited to come back and see his brothers again.
William left, Jacob right
