Success after IF

what is the deal with glycolic & salycic during pregnancy?

i have read that you shouldn't use either. is it just b/c your skin may be too sensitive or is there another reason?

my skin is a hot mess and there is nothing i can use b/c apparently all my old tricks are forbidden :(

Re: what is the deal with glycolic & salycic during pregnancy?

  • i used it the entire time and had no issues.  and DS seems completely normal to me.  You just don't want to be chowing down on the stuff.  having it on your skin is really no big deal.  very little if any is absorbed by the body, and that is what is not recommended.  like nail polish and other stuff, just don't eat it.

  • I used it. My doc said OTC stuff is fine, as long as you aren't eating it.  It's the really strong prescription stuff you have to watch for.

  • My doc wants me to stick to benzoyl peroxide, which works okay for me, and I'm using a product by Belli that uses lactic acid as its acne-fighting ingredient.  I've really loved it so far, and it does seem to be helping the disaster area that was my face.
