My high school is being torn down

It has been sitting empty for a couple of years but they are finally tearing it down. Everyone is in an uproar and feeling all sad. I don't care either way, it was empty and becoming an eyesore to be quite honest.

Would you feel nostalgic/upset if your high school was being torn down?

Re: My high school is being torn down

  • I get more nostalgic when they talk about making my school no longer a K-12 school.  It was a super neat experience to go to school at the same place as both of my younger sisters.

  • They tore mine down a few years ago and built a brand new school right next to it, then put a parking lot where the old school was. It was really really weird at first to drive by and not see it there. But I'm so glad they did it, the building was awful and while I may not have gotten a nice building when I was in school, I'm glad kids do now.

  • I'd be sad.  Not protesting or anything.  But a little sad that part of my history would be gone.
  • it wouldn't bother me at all.

as a matter of fact, they changed things up a bit and turned our old high school into the middle school and built a brand new high school building. The only thing that upset me was that we didn't have what the new building now has, ha!

  • I wouldn't feel sad at all if they tore down my high school (though it was brand new when I went through it, so I doubt that will happen for a while).

I went to a terrible school (very bad curriculum), and I didn't really enjoy the experience.

  • I would be a bit sad, but it wouldn't be worthy of a letter to the editor or anything.

If it had to go down I would hope for it to be blown up like on Buffy.

This. They have added on and built so many more buildings and stuff on to it that its hardly recognizeable anymore anyway. Makes me a little sad when I drive by (which is about once every 4-5 years).

It makes me sad that its not all farm land around it anymore but a ginourmous monstrosity of a Dell Plant that will be sitting empty next year with all my tax money in incentives washed down the drain. Now THAT's Sad.

  • I would be sad, but my high school has a long history.  Like PP said, it's one that has 3 or 4 generations attend.

    No.

High school was NOT a good experience for me.

Ditto.  Maybe they should tear mine down!
