3rd Trimester

when to call...when to leave? need a refresher plz

now that I'm actually timing contractions and thinking this could be early labor finally.. when do you call the OB? should i wait a few hours to make sure the pattern keeps up?

Re: when to call...when to leave? need a refresher plz

  • my ob said to call when they were on a regular basis and then they would say how long to wait (how far apart). However given everything from DE OBs lately I would trust another bumpers reply more.

  • Contractions that last a minute, every 5 min, for an an hour (or when they become regular and are really strong)

My doc said it they come every 7 minutes but knock me off my feet, that it's time to come in.

Basically an established pattern that isn't going away.

  • My OBs discharge instructions regarding contrax (from when I was admitted to L&D last month):

If you are having regular contractions every 1 to 5 minutes that last 40-60 seconds for more than one hour.

If you have sharp pain or constant pain in your abdomen, othen than contractions that come and go.

  • The girls heard the same thing as me... The 511 rule.... 5 minutes apart, lasting one minute for one hour or if your water bag breaks. GL!! 12/11 would be a really nice birthday!! So Jealous!!
  • My doc said to call when the contractions were 5-7 minutes apart for an hour.
