Momma with 2 or more....if your first was an awesome sleeper

what was your second one like? I am so afraid this new kid will be a horrible sleeper. We have been so lucky with Ella.

Re: Momma with 2 or more....if your first was an awesome sleeper

  • Not quite as good but still not bad!

Took an extra month to STTN and required some sleep training.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

  • ugh....i KNOW this one will be just as bad. I can't imagine it getting any worse than Brock.
  • I fear this, too.
  • not quite as good, but not that bad. but they were/are both stellar nappers.

  • Ashlyn STTN since 4 weeks and sleeps 12 hrs a night and loves her 2 hr nap in the afternoon

I am NOT going to know what to do if this one is different.

I almost wish I could just clone Ash again as she has been so easy on everything but then again that would be no fun.

  • I am worried too... I told my husband how we'd never sleep again. Lydia woke up twice a night the first 2 weeks, once a night the third week, and after that she was sleeping 12 hour uninterrupted... he thinks that's what babies do now, and I think we were WAY lucky!

  • I thought I had a great sleeper the first time, but DS#2 is even more awesome :)

DS#2 started STTN around 6 weeks and has ever since (no wake-ups at 4 months, with his first cold, etc). It involved absolutely no training on my end ... he just came that way Wink

He's not the greatest napper though, but I'm okay with the trade-off.

  • #2 is just as awesome as #1! DS was a 12 hour sleep no matter what. If he went down at 7pm then he slept till 7am. If he went down at 10pm then he slept till 10am. Always 12 hours.

DD is awesome too. STTN at 4 months and sleeps 13-14 hours a night and still take a great nap during the day. Never loses sleep during growth spurts or teething or anything. So far the first 2 have been great, hopefully DD2 will be just as good...

DD is the same.  I'm petrified that the next one will be a horrible sleeper
