So I had my second ultrasound to see if my placenta is still low, and it isn't but the technician told me that my LO has alot of hair. I told my husband and he said oh babe your going to have alot of heartburn, so far I have been very lucky and haven't had any heartburn, How many of you ladies have heard of this old wives tale? and what other ones have you heard about pregnancy?
Re: old wives tale
Congrats on your placenta moving up
I have heard of this OWT...one of my coworkers keeps telling me that morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy. I've vomitted this entire pregnancy and am still taking Zofran for the nausea....so I'm not sure if this is just something she was telling me to make me feel better, but I haven't heard anyone else say it.
There actually have been studies that this one wive tale does have some truth to it.
in addition what i've been told is that doctors have found that the same hormones that cause heartburn to occur are the same that cause fetal hair growth in most cases. This however doesn't mean just because you had heartburn your baby will have hair or because you didn't your baby won't have hair. they have just noticed an increase in women with heartburn.
I have heard that a baby with alot of hair causes heartburn, my little boy has a lot of hair we could see if when we had a 3D ultrasound and let me tell you... THE HEARTBURN is horrible! I usually only get it at night but it causes me not to be able to sleep, I take maalox and it still doesnt help
I asked my mom about it and she said that she had horrible heartburn as well and I was born with a head full of hair!
Hopefully the heartburn will stay away for you, I am jealous!

Yeah, I've heard that one. Kinda weird!
I can't remember many about pregnancy, but my grandma has told me a few from Italy that are totally off the wall. Like if the baby has a blocked tear duct, you should squirt breast milk in it. lol. And just today she said if Caelen falls and bumps his head, I should wrap a quarter in a long cloth and wrap the cloth around his head with the quarter over the bump. Italians are strange!
This is what I heard too. I am figuring my baby will have quite a bit of hair if that is true.
I surveyed many moms on this one...9/10 that had bad heartburn had bald kids. My one friends little man is still bald at 6 mo and she was popping TUMS 6 times a day. But, who knows!
If you made it this far w/o heartburn, you are one lucky lady!
