I did this last night! It hurt so bad, it's still sore. It happened with my last pregnancy too. I have to be careful not point my toes when I stretch - that's tough when you're sleeping though!
no, they just hurt like a SOB and are sore for days! try not to point your toes. if i feel one coming on, i flex my foot (toes toward my head) and stretch my leg out. 9 x out of 10, the "horse" never comes on.
I get them at least once a week. One was so bad I was limping around until the day before my next one came along. I've tried flexing my foot (toward my head) when I feel them coming on but there are times that it feels like doing that only makes the horse come on stronger. I see my doc tomorrow, I'm going to ask him if there is anything I can do about it because its starting to get out of control.
Also, I've noticed wrapping a heating pad around the sore spot after getting a real bad charlie horse helps...
I get them too so bad..nothing works and I'm like numb in pain from it for a few minutes..My doctor said it can be from a lack of calcium..meanwhile I drink milk, take tums, and have cheese of some sort everyday..what lack of calcium..
I had THREE massive charlie horses all in a row yesterday when I was asleep. I woke up screaming for my husband to rub my leg. And yes, my leg is still aching. My hubby laughed at me and said the only thing he remembers me saying was "If labor is anything like that we are in trouble!"
