update re: worried @ DD's legs/hips

I posted that I was worried one of DD's legs was shorter than the other...and my everyday fear that her hips have become dislocated again. I made an apt. with the Dr. and we saw him this morning. He checked her legs and he doesn't think they are uneven. Whew! He also checked her hips and said they are stiff and still in the sockets. He was very understanding of my worries and good at reassuring me. I left there feeling so much better!!

Lillian is doing well. She is sitting up on her own, rolling over (from front to back) and scooting backwards. I can tell she really wants to move more so I guess she just has to figure out how to crawl with her brace on. Of course, I worry about her development but I know I need to give her more time...three months in a cast will surely take some time to recover from. She's a stubborn little girl so I have no doubt she will get it eventually!!

That is GREAT news!!! I'm so glad that the doctor was understanding and was able to reassure you. Lillian is such a little cutie; and you can see the determined spirit in her eyes. If she is anything like my cousin (who went through the same procedures when she was Lil's age), she will wind up being one of the most physically active, coordinated, and [even] athletically talented little girls around!

What a relief! I was afraid when I saw the title that this post wasn't going to have good news. Glad there is good news from the doctor. I know it must be torture for you to have to be so patient while wanting Lillian to learn all her new skills. She (and you) are doing a great job and have come so far already!

so glad she is doing great.

Believe me she will catch up, these kids are much stronger then us. Evan was just about 4 months early so he was always behind 4 months and it is hard when you hear other people talk about what their kid is doing at the same age but she will get there with no problems I am sure.

Is she able to play with more toys now that she is able to sit up by herself? we packed up a ton of toys recently of Evans if you can think of anything that might be of interest to her.

My son didn't crawl until 10 months and didn't have to go through the obstacles your daughter did. She will be fine! She is a strong little trooper.

I'm so glad to hear that you got a great report from the doctor. Lillian seems to be picking up mobility pretty quickly so I'm sure it won't be long until she's crawling all over the place!
