This is why I love my state, they automatically send a free copy. We got it when DD was less than a month old.

I had to rush order hers for a passport. Better get it now just in case. It's good forever and you will eventually need it. Might as well do it now.

Yes, we had to pay for ours ($25, I think). It was required for DS' baptism since they consider a Baptism Certificate a form of ID.

I thought that we had to pay for it, so I ordered 5 copies and paid for them (maybe $30, but can't remember). A week after I got the copies, I got the "free" one in the mail.
