Have any of you used the area diaper services for cloth diapers?
If so which one and how are you liking it?
If you just bought your own cloth diapers, which ones, and how many?
DH and I want to do some research before we decide if we are going to go with cloth or disposable. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Diaper Services
I researched this prior to having a baby & the only diaper service I could find was in Rockwall.
There are lots of moms who cloth diaper on this board & the Eco Family board - they'll have some great tips.
I could not find a diaper service that was near us. We still do mostly CD except for at daycare.
But as pp said, check the eco board.

We cd and wash our own diapers. We have 30 bum genius diapers. Most are pockets, but we have a handful of the organic all-in-ones. We used prefolds in the beginning, because dd was so little.
It adds about 2 loads of laundry a week. I wash every 2-3 days, otherwise the diapers get really stinky. My washing routine is really easy: cold rinse, hot wash, and then 2 rinses. I use crunchy clean or Allen's for soap. I've never had a repelling issue and I've never had to strip diapers.
Our montessori allows cds, so I bought a small step trash can and a few small pail liners to go in it. I don't know if you plan to stay at home or go back to work, but not all daycares will take cloth, so that something to consider, too.
That's so cool that you found daycare that allows CDing. Do you mind if I ask which montessori you go to? If you don't want to post on here my email is baustria at gmail. It might not be in our area but it's good to know that they're out there. Thanks!

we wash our own diapers since it's cheaper that way. newborns go through so many diapers per day (ours goes through 20-24) so prefolds w/a cover is the most economical choice...or fitteds w/a cover. AIOs are so expensive and you only use them for a few weeks with a newborn. we got 3 dozen prefolds from green mountain diapers and 6 thirsties duo covers and it is working out really great. I have some sposoeasy AIOs for going out and those are nice and trim.
if you go to Jillian's Drawers there is a link at the top that says "New to Cloth" that has a lot of good info (make sure you select each page from the drop down menu once you have clicked on new to cloth - there are several pages of info there)
we're really glad we're using cloth, we used sposies the first few days while waiting for the meconium to pass and our trash bin was filling up so fast - so much waste!! we feel a lot better about the environment using cloth...plus it is cheaper. I also love using cloth wipes (with just plain water) instead of disposable baby wipes.
