do you remember what his heart rate was while you were pregnant?

DH and I are really hoping for a boy this time around, to have one of each. I had my first OB appt yesterday and the h/r was 174bpm. I know there is an old wives tale that if the h/r is over 140 it's a girl.

So I'm just wondering if you had a boy and if the h/r was high.

I don't remember what it was exactly. I do know that it was high and in the girl range. I was shocked he was a boy.

In the beginning his heartrate was higher like in the 150's. By the middle of pregnancy he settled in the 130's. FWIW, my midwife guessed boy long before our ultrasound. She said her guess was based on how I carried and his heartrate.

DS's was always higher than DD's has been. ?160s+, always.

It was in the 160's teh bigger he got the lower it dropped. Right before I had him it was like 120 or something. I even asked the Dr. because that was so slow but they said it was normal. And I have heard the same higher for boys. But I doubt that holds any truth!

D's heart rate was never below 150.

This baby's heart rate so far has never been below 140.

Apparently I'm the only one in history who has no idea what the HR was. My OB never mentions it. I have no idea what this one is either and I never think to ask as long as it's "normal." Oops!

I don't remember what his first heart rate was off hand (it's home in the baby book) but I know it was always anywhere from 130-145.

In the 150s-160s, at first. It was around 140 when they were monitoring me during my induction.

I don't remember what DS's heart rate was. But this time around we are 90% sure from our early ultrasound that it is another boy and the heart rate was 140 something.

Ds was always high 160's low 170's....I remember thinking he was a girl because someone had told me the old wive's tale. Good Luck!

my OB office never tells the HR. they said it fluctuates too much from second to second.

DS was never under 160. This baby, another boy, has never been under 150. The HR thing is an OWT.

DS was always 130-140 (except at the 1st check at 10 weeks), and this DD has always been 150-170. I wouldn't make guesses based on the 1st appt., they are all fast then.

The old wives tale I heard was the opposite, that if it was higher, it was a boy. Which was the case with us ... DS was 150s-160s

Very, very high. I think almost 180 at first, then it slowly went down to like 160 later in the pregnancy.

It changes all the time. Now it's down around 140. Previously it had been around 165. I assume you know that this is a myth (or one of the many responses I haven't read has already pointed this out).
