I know a little girl named Colby, so I immediately think girl.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Either. I think girl b/c I went to school many years w/ a female Colby though. It's a less common name though so unless a person has known a Colby it is not very gender specific.
i'm a teacher and there's an 8th grade GIRL in our school named Colby.so it makes me think of her... and colbie callait. nowadays i feel like the rule is, unisex/neutral names are usually reserved for girls. this is just my opinion.
don't worry if it makes ppl think of cheese... i went to college with a girl named Brie. that's worse!
Hmmmm. I think it would work for either. It's not on my list, but I think it is among the better unisex names. It's not in the "was definitely a boy name, but now all those evil girl mommies stole it" camp. If I saw the name on a roll call, I would probably not make any guesses as to the gender.

Grrr. This is why girls using boy names bothers me.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
Re: Do you think of Colby as a boys name or a girls name?

I think boy, but I'm not really a fan though.
I think of it for a girl, mainly because I grew up with a Colby, and another friend just named her little girl Colby Isabel.
I love unisex names for girls only. I think they are typically too femine for boys, just my two cents.

I totally thought of the Survivor guy. He was hot.
So I guess boy.
Total boy!

I think of cheese not a kid but forcing myself to move away from my passionate cheese obsession makes me think of a cute little boy.
