If you are due any minute (? about going out for the holidays)

Do you plan on taking baby out this year for holiday parties/visits? We were due 12/4 so I had originally hoped baby would be 3 weeks and we might be able to do some visiting, but now we'll have a 2 week old and I'm re-considering.

I know our families will be ticked, but Christmas eve we usually go to the in-laws (right in the same city, so travel is not the issue), but there are tons of people there!

Christmas Day we'd go to my aunt's and there would only be about 10 people, all over 16 so that might be do-able.

What do you think?

    We are. Christmas day we will go to DH Aunt's... probably about 20 or so people there. People will not come if they are sick and they know to wash their hands A LOT. Day after we will do a small party with DH immediate family (12 people)... same deal. (my family is oot so that reduces the amount of exposure). Do what ever you feel is right!

    my family is all OOT too so I don't have this problem, but I would be really hesitant about bringing a newborn to a large gathering.  If it was just my immediate family or some other smaller group I think it would be fine--or if I knew that I could get away with not passing the baby around or letting a lot of people touch him/hold him I might consider it, but knowing my family this would be really hard to do!

    Both our families live 2/5 hours away from us (not in the same town, either). If he's not here by next Tuesday, we will not be traveling. Too much, too far. I'd like to get things under control and not be stressing about sleep, BF'ing, etc. while not in the comfort of our own home. Our families will probably come visit us instead.
