NSAIF What kind of flooring?

We have a hallway that runs the length of our house that is carpeted.  We also have 2 dogs.  The carpet has been peed on, etc.  We've had it cleaned.  It's still gross to me, so it has to go.  We have wood in our living room.  Duraceramic in our kitchen and living room.  What would you put in the hallway?  It would also go in our small family/exercise room.  Thanks!

  • I have a thing for cork floors lately. We plan on putting them in our family room and hallway next summer when we redo that area. Very durable, yet easy of the feet.

  • high quality laminate wood flooring is a good option and works well w/dogs.

  • not sure what duraceramic is, but i would lean towards wood, visually...but the ceramic might be better for holding up under traffic.  i wouldn't introduce a new material.  fwiw, we are in the same boat...we have a small carpeted hallway upstairs that has been peed on and gets a lot of traffic...we are yanking it out next weekend to install bamboo (like we have on the first floor) and run it throughout the nursery.

We've been in our home with cork flooring in the kitchen and upstairs bedrooms for 9 months now and I love the cork. They appear to be holding up well with 3 very busy kids.
