1st Trimester

I don't think I can wait!

I scheduled our first official appointment...it's not until JAN 7!!! I really don't know how I'm going to wait that long! She said they normally see people between 7 & 8 weeks...I will be 8w2d. I hate waiting!!

Re: I don't think I can wait!

  • I have to wait till January 4... Hopefully the holidays will make it go by fast for us!

  • I felt the SAME way and I'm sure all the other girls here feel that way too. I occupied myself with the book Baby Bargains and all my pregnancy books. Of course work and bumping keeps me busy too.
  • I felt the same way when I made my first appointment. It will be on Dec. 21 and I will be 8w2d then. I guess it is normal but it is really hard to wait.
  • Waiting is the worst - and sorry to tell you but after that appointment - waiting 4 weeks until your next appointment is no joyride!!!!

    Sad

  • When I was there yesterday for b/w I asked the nurse if all pg women are as paranoid as I am. She said it's totally normal because there's no way to actually see or feel what's going on inside you. She also said I wasn't the most paranoid, by far, so that made me feel better :)
  • I know how you feel.  I feel like the wait is taking forever.  I'll be about 8w2d at my first appt, and it's still 18 days away.  I've called the Dr. 3 times already and I have a feeling that they'll be sick of me well before I deliver.
  • I'm right there with you.  I called and they can't get me in for my 1st appointment until Jan.7th as well.  I was hoping for some type of outside confirmation besides a HPT before we tell our family.  I keep going back and forth on when to tell them.
  • Yeah really- they didn't even DO anything at my first (8 week) appointment... just asked me questions.

I don't have my first u/s until 13 weeks (right before xmas) so I'm DYING over here to get into that office!!!

  • we're all in that boat at some point haha.  i had to wait and it felt like forever....felt so good after i left there and i didn't even have an ultrasound.  i was just happy to have the first appointment done.....just meant i was that much farther along i guess......
  • My doctor is going to see me at about 8.5 weeks as well. good to know that's pretty normal. The wait is brutal. I want to tell a few family members but I also wanted to wait till after the first appointment, just want to know everything is ok.
  • The wait blows. My 1st appt is Dec 28th and I'll be 9w4d along.  Only 2 1/2 more weeks of waiting.  I don't think I'll make it either!  Hoping the holidays make the time go faster!  :)

Me too! Except I'll be 9w1 day along I think. I think for the first time in my life I can't wait until Christmas is over because I actually have soemthing more exciting afterwards!

Oh, BTW CityGirl- I know you said you're on the UWS. I work up there and just found a prenatal yoga class on 72nd & B'dway.

It's $185 for 8 weekly classes... I think that's kinda expensive but I am gonna look around.

Let me know if you find any good prenatal in general classes on the UWS. I know the 96th Street Y has some.

Oooh I wanna get in on that too!

  • I felt the same way and I only had to wait about 2 weeks :) you just want to get there and make sure there is really a baby and everything looks healthy...it is nerve racking.
  • I feel the same way(my appt is scheduled for January 6th).  I have been trying to keep myself distracted but it is hard, especially when I read these boards all day.  :)

Is that at the Prenatal Yoga Center? That's the only one I've heard of up here, but I'm definitely going to look! I don't belong to a gym right now, so I might not mind spending the money. I've been looking for a new workout routine...
