So I failed my 1 hour glucose test by a lot (they look for a max level of 130, mine level was 155). A good friend of mine who is a doctor was here this afternoon when I got the results and she said that I shouldn't be too hopeful that I'm going to pass the 3 hour.I take the 3 hour on Saturday.
Any success stories you can share with me?
Re: In need of reassurance re: glucose test
It's possible to pass.
Did you do a fasting one hour or were you allowed to eat before? If you were allowed to eat, what did you have that day? What time of the day was your 1 hour test. All of those things factor into your numbers.
They didn't tell me to eat or not to eat... I didn't eat. I got to the lab about 7:15 am. Our playgroup holiday party was the night before - I didn't have any desserts, but I did eat a lot of starchy sides (and more food than I would have normally eaten).
For the 3 hour test I have to fast from 10 pm the night before on (I can have water), and they want me to go to the lab first thing in the morning.
I failed the 1 hour with a 178. ?My OB was surprised and asked me what I had eaten the night before my 1 hour. ?I told her Bojangles (chicken biscuit, french fries) and she told me that was probably why I failed so bad, because it was all carbs.
The night before my 3 hour I made sure to eat mostly protein and I passed it with no problem.?
