rice cereal question

So I have been feeding my baby rice cereal for a week now. I give some in her bottle, and some with a spoon. It doesnt seem to make her more full, and it causes lots of gas. Is that normal to cause gas? It just doesn't seem to be doing anything, and she has mastered the spoon right away.

    I dont know why I am giving it in the bottle. I guess I thought it would help her feel more full because before she was having 10 ounces of formula, which was a lot of formula, so i made it 8 ounces and 2 tablespoons of rice cereal to make it thicker and make her feel satisfied
