I'm not too sure what to think of this:
Last night I went to L&D because I had 5 contractions in an hour. These contractions were actually causing very intense pressure in my belly. I couldn't even breathe when I would get one. The home monitor picked them up and the Dr wanted to see me. Once there the contractions became irregular and I wasn't dialated so they sent me home at about 2:00 a.m.
This morning I monitored and I had 8 contractions in an hour. The nurse called me and told me the monitor picked them all up and to drink fluids, layd down and re-monitor for another hour. I had 3 contractions. However, now my entire pelvic area is so sore I can barely move.
The dr last night said that I could be going into labor in the next few days or so and all these contractions are leading up to it. They did not give me anything for the contractions last night. They also said they will not try to stop or prevent labor and will not do steroid shots at this point.
Did anyone experience something similar before going into labor?? I'm not sure what to think of all this.
Re: Triplet Moms-I'm confused
Obviously, I'm still pg, but last night on the monitor I had 5 and the monitor nurse had me take my Procardia, drink water and remonitor for another hour. I had 5 again that second hour, so she had to call the peri.
He told me to go to sleep. He told the monitor nurse to up my threshold from 4 to 6 now that I'm allowed to have.
My contractions feel the same as you described, pretty intense and almost like I can't breath from the pressure.
I take it that your not on any medications for the contractions? I would be worried too if your pelvis hurts. You should probably call the doctor again to let them know. 8 seems like a lot to me, but if the water and laying down helped it, you might have just been dehydrated. I would think that true labor would be progressive and you would continue to have 8 or more.
I'm curious to see what triplet moms that went through this say, because I'm just as curious as you are. I am so nervous about going into labor very soon.
Good luck with everything!!
