So we already have a nice winter jacket for DS that was pretty expensive. I want him to be able to wear it when we play outside, and I don't want to have to buy a whole separate snow suit.
Partly because I don't want to spend the money on a snow suit, and partly because I want to get my money's worth out of the coat.
Do they even make 12 month size snow pants that aren't snow suits? He's tall, but skinny, so I don't know if he'd fit in a 24 month pair. Anyone know?
Re: Snow pants for a one year old?
DS has a pair of overall/bibs and the powder puff reversible pants - both from Patagonia.
He wears the pants over whatever he has on during the week at daycare - they go outside everyday and we have a couple feet of snow on the ground 9 months out of the year.
We use the overalls for skiing, snowshoeing and sledding on the weekends. Both are great but the overalls are sturdier.
They exist, but aren't easy to find the right sizes. My sister and I have been hunting for 18-24 months or 2T and are having zero luck. I know Meijer (weird, I know) has a large selection for pretty cheap and Target. I'm hoping to get some gender neutral ones so I'll get more use out them when the next kiddo comes along.
We bought some snow bibs/overalls for $15 at Macy's.
ETA: They are well made and warm. We compared to the ones at Target, and I thought the Target ones were much more flimsy. I know that essential they're probably all the same, but I wanted the peace of mind in knowing that he was in thicker material. They're lined well, and he's never come in with cold legs.
