f/u to newborn clothing - am i all set now?

OK, here is what I have (in newborn size) after some shopping at Carter's and double checking what my mom has bought for me.  Let me know if I am missing anything.  :)

10 footed sleepers

6 cotton pants

6 long sleeve patterned onesies

6 long sleeve basic white onesies

I also have some gowns, but I think they are 0-3 and there are some that are "one size" (whatever that means).

Thanks again for your help with this!

  • You might want a few more pants. If there are blowout/leaks you could go through 6 very quickly.

Also, do you have any socks? We didn't use them at newborn but my boys were born in June.

  • When our girls were newborns (and not really going anywhere), we just put them in footed sleepers all the time.  They made things easy.  You might want a few more of those.

I don't know if your house gets colder in the winter, being in Southern California, but if it does, you might want to put short-sleeved onesies on under their sleepers.  And socks.

    Do you have sleep sacks?

Duh, I forgot about the socks.  Yes!  We have a ton of socks.  Thanks!

    Thank you!

Our house doesn't get too cold, and when it does, MH turns the heater on.

Yes, we have 4 newborn sleep sacks and then 4 "small" sleep sacks.  And a bunch of Aden & Anais swaddle blankets.

  • I'd get a few more sleepers and call it a day.
  • Will they be wearing sleepers during the day?  Our boys wore newborn clothing for awhile.  I find that I need at least 8-10 pairs of pjs and 10 outfits to get me through a week.  We didn't have alot of spit ups or blow outs though so we were lucky.

I would imagine that for the first few weeks they will be in sleepers while in the house.  I probably won't put outfits on them for awhile.  Onesies and pants, maybe, but not full-on outfits if that makes sense.

I picked up a few more sleepers and pants, so I think we should be set at least for awhile.  The Carter's Outlet is 2 miles away so MH can always run out to pick up whatever we need if we find that we're short on something once they get here.

I still don't have a single thing in Preemie, though...
