PSA: Chicco Polly Highchair

Reposted from 2nd Tri:

There are two different kinds of Chicco Polly highchairs, one with a vinyl cover and one with a fabric cover.  If this is the high chair you want, make sure you get one of the vinyl ones - you can't clean the fabric ones.

If you click on the color swatches, it'll tell you if it's a vinyl pad or a fabric one.

Re: PSA: Chicco Polly Highchair

  • I have this high chair, and have to say I hate it! Mine is vinyl, and while it does wipe well it has so many folds and creases that it's nearly impossible to really clean well w/o taking it apart. Also, because it folds open, the legs spread to take up a ton of space. I never close it because I use it so often, but it's so awkward in our dining room. I really wish I had gotten something simple like a plain wooden high chair or something more modern with just a bucket-style seat.

  • HUH?  They all say:

Two cushioned seat pads that are easy to clean Phthalate free vinyl seat pads

I don't see any that are fabric.

Look above the picture.  They all say vinyl in the bulletpointed list, but that's a lie.  Where it says the color above the picture it'll say "- Vinyl" or "- Fabric".

  • can't you just throw the fabric pads through the washing machine (if your have a big enough washer/dryer)? I haven't read the post on 2nd tri or anything but I would assume you can do that as long as you do it on cold and gentle cycle.

They're spot clean only.  You're not supposed to put them in the wash.  I'm going to try it, because h3ll it's already ruined.  But if you could avoid the trouble before you even buy the highchair, why wouldn't you?

  • This is the one I registered for!  Is it really that bad?

  • I have the Vinyl in Sarah and it's still a pain in the butt to take apart and clean!

Also, the wheel locks have a mind of their own and it drives me crazy.  If I could do it over again, I would not have bought this high chair:)
