Counting kicks

Were you told to count kicks?  I'm waiting to hear back from my OB.  I havent felt much kicking today.  I've been poking my tummy to get some reaction and its a little nudge here and there but not like the norm.  I just called my OB and waiting to hear back. 

Is this something I should be worried about at 21wks and 5dys?  Did your dr. tell you that you should be counting the kicks to make sure there is a certain amount you feel each day?

I'm getting very worried by the minute.....

    Most ppl are told to start counting at 28 wks with a singleton...dont know about twins, but I wouldnt worry.

    Seeing as many women don't feel any movement until 22 weeks, I wouldn't worry just yet.  As pp said, it should be consistent around 28 weeks.

    You definitely should not be worried. The babies are tiny right now and are likely moving but you just can't feel them. My OB didn't even want me to start counting until 28 weeks since movement before then can be sporadic. At 22-26 weeks, I didn't feel them consistently at all.

    Thank you Girls!  I thought it would be too early to count.  Its so hard not worry about everything you know?

    My Peri just told me today that you can't/don't need to do kick counts with twins.

    After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

    I asked my OB about it at my 29 week appt and she said as long as I felt them moving a few times during the day (or night), not to worry.

    I don't remember feeling mine a whole lot at 21 weeks, but around 24 weeks they were movin and grovin for sure!

    And to add, with my son I had an anterior placenta and he was wedged in like a V, so I hardly felt him at all.  Ever.  I had a BPP done around 30 weeks with him and sure enough, he was moving.  I just couldn't feel it.
