Google is your friend when it is dealing with something that most of us have no clue about. I think the post should have been on a different board. Maybe High risk or 0-3 months.

Sorry, I fail to grasp the logic. How exactly is one supposed to know what body of knowledge is actually contained within an ever-changing pool of internet strangers?

Del, nothing bad happens if you don't have to hear about it, didn't you know? Seeking advice from actual people is okay as long as it involved puppies & rainbows. I come here to feel warm and fuzzy, damnnit!

"Google is your friend" when you're asking something like "is it safe to eat fish during pregnancy?" There are thousands of pregnancy websites out there with that kind of info without having to ask other pregnant people.

riiiiight because every result that comes up on google givee the EXACT same response and it doesn't give out ANY scary information
I'm not exactly sure... but from what I understand, it has something to do with being further along. And you have to pray to them every day. Previous children do not count, from what I can tell...

Except that on 0-3 all the moms are living.
Where does one learn about live-threatening conditions that develop in late pregnancy? Third tri is just as valid as high risk. Just own the fact that you don't want to hear scary stuff instead of saying it's ok to hear it JUST NOT HERE.

Really? Since apparently most of the posters on 3rd Tri are first time mothers...how do you have a clue about half the shiit that happens during pregnancy/delivery? If you've never had an induction, do you have any clue about it...probably b/c your doctor might have educated you.
I have no problem with her post. And to be crucified and called insensitive is bullshiit.

0-3 theoretically would have all the 3rd tri knowledge too though, so I could see it posting there and since they are living you get the benefit of less panic.
I'd rather see the post on 3rd tri than on HR board myself just because of the worries it was likely to cause. I think HRs have enough on their plates to get asked about such things if it can be avoided...Granted they may be doubled onto 3rd tri and could answer here also then...
I am amazed this has gone on to another posting.. but to answer... I did not post on high risk because it was not a high risk pregnancy. I did not post on 0-3 months because the baby is fine and I was not asking about the baby's health. Birth stories did not seem to be the place either... as it was an uneventful labor and delivery/birth. (She passed away suddenly 3 days later).
I believe no one wants to hear about a tragedy like this at any stage of pregnancy or even after having a child.

HAHAH thats funny. stupid too.
37wks+ but yes, I think its pretty funny/dumb that previous kids don't count...
IMO (as a 1st time mom to be/bumpie/"elder") the elder club is a place where we can post whines to each other and ask for labor dust....thats about all I get from it...Maybe I just miss the 'good' posts though.. Still gotta love that being an elder gets me 1 step closer to L&D....lol

Not ALL people over 37 weeks. You have to be at least 1/4 douchebag to accept such a preposterous title.

It's effing ridiculous. They even have "elder" check-ins. Ha. They call themselves elders but they definitely don't have the wisdom that *should* go along with it...

and when I call elders douchey, it's not for these reasons, which seem harmless. It's for the eleventy billion posts that get c&p'd about how only elders are allowed to complain and how they demand respect from the less pregnant ladies. THAT is what's douchey.
