I've been reading about people eating hot dogs and italian subs today. Those are my two major cravings and I thought I couldn't have them...? Am I wrong?

They say as long as the stuff is hot its okay. But to be honest I ate lunch meat the first time around cold and my son was perfectly healthy. Its just a personal choice how much of the "no stuff" in pregnancy you want to pay attention to.
I have had a few turkey dogs and just make sure they are steaming. Some ppl on here say all the talk about warming up your lunch meat to steaming is a bunch of hype, but my Dr said I needed to do it, so thats what I am sticking to. I havent had any italian subs, but have had a hot sub from Penn Station. Very yummy!
Oh, but I should add to watch where you get the stuff... make sure it's from a place that you know is clean and fresh and that you've never tasted "bad" stuff from.
Lunch meat has an increased risk of listeria, a bacteria that causes food poisoning. Pregnant women because of a decreased immune system are more susceptible to having problems with it. If everything is warmed up when you eat it, there's no problem. Otherwise, it's a personal call as to whether the risk, which is low, is worth it or not.

Re: Confused?
They are on the restricted list, but a the OP in the Italian hoagie post had hers toasted.
That said, I do plan to have a cold hoagie now and then! It's a huge craving of mine right now but I'm avoiding thus far.
