Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Would you do this?

DD was born in June.  Lots of very thoughtful friends & family gave us bigger sizes of clothes so that we would have them for the future.  Unfortunately, some of the 9m clothes aren't warm enough for the winter.  DH's cousin just had a baby.  Would it be wrong to give her some of the 9m clothes as a gift?  The clothes still have tags on them and her daughter will probably be in 9m clothes in the summertime.

Would you do this?

  • I don't see why not, esp is your DD has never worn them.
  • Why not?

The clothes are new and unworn.  I did this with a few things that DD received that were meant for a boy (DH has a weird aunt).  The way I looked at it was - my other option was to return them to the store and use the refund to buy the gift which results in the same thing so do it.

  • If your DD can't use them, it would be a shame to let them go to waste. I'd regift. You aren't being ungrateful, you're being practical.

    I agree with this.

  • Do you know where they got them?  Can you exchange them for things that your LO woudl wear?  if not, I would either donate them to her, or sell them on Craigslist ...I know both ideas aren't great, but I woudln't want them to go to waste either.
  • Heck yes, I've regifted for DH's cousin (but I also bought something off her registry to go with it, lol).
