My sil made me feel bad that I am not going to have a lot of room for my dd when she starts becoming mobile....I live in a townhouse in an urban area. We have a courtyard out back, and three bedrooms....downstairs we have moved the coffee table and put down the alphabet mat....I think that she is going to be fine...we live where it is hot out most of the year soooo we will be outside most of the time. I don't even know why I am worrying about this at all, but she made me feel bad.

how much space does your SIL think your lo needs? isn't it better than she be a little contained?
Our house is pretty small, but we have a nice backyard (although we do have an ant problem...) but she'll want to play wherever her toys are or be following me around. Don't worry about it.
Does she have a lot of room? She's probably in a bitchy mood and wants to make someone else feel bad .... mine does this.
I don't have ANY room and I have two ... we have a alpha mat on the floor and toys, they should be fine as well
That is bs. We live in an urban area in a 2 bedroom condo. Sure it will be different from the childhood I had but not bad! That's what parks are for. Just think of all the children raised in Manhattan by celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, etc. And they have lots of money. Don't feel bad at all!
This. We have about 800 sq ft and DD sleeps in our room. Your LO will be fine! My L&D nurse told me they live in a one bedroom condo with their 15 month old, so I'm figuring if she can do it, so can we.
The idea that every child needs their own bedroom and gobs and gobs of space to run around in a fairly recent thing. The houses our parents grew up in were not as big as the ones being built now, and they often had more kids.
We live in a small two bdrm. apt., and while we don't have tons of indoor space, we have enough, and he can alwasy go outside. Like someone else said, what do kids do who live in city apartments their whole lives?
