    My parents have a half wall between the kitchen and family room and hung ours there.

    We have a low cabinet in the living room, so we hag them from there, or in the past I've used those 3M hooks that attach to the wall and then come off clean. They look nice lined up next to the tree.

    Yea, you could just hang them on the wall with a nice swag or something above it.

    I hung ours on a curtain rod, it comes apart in the middle so they are easy to slide off when I want to fill them with stuff and then I'll just set them under the tree

    same for us...the banister that goes upstairs has hooks already there when we move in.  We hang our keys there and when Christmas decorations are up we hang our stockings there instead...we have the garland there also.
